What affects the price of interior painting

Most of the cost is labor, and most of the labor is prep.

  1. Square footage and ceiling height

Bigger rooms and tall ceilings take more paint and more time.

  2. Wall condition

Lots of patching or repairs add prep time before painting can start.

  3. Color changes

Going from dark to light usually takes an extra coat.

  4. Trim, doors and cabinets

Detail work takes more time per square foot than open walls.

Interior painting questions

How long does it take to paint a room?

Most single rooms take a day or two, depending on prep and the number of coats. A whole house takes longer. You'll get a timeline in the estimate.

Do I need to move my furniture?

Just small items and anything fragile. We move and cover the larger furniture and protect the floors.

Do you help pick colors?

Yes. We can bring sample cards and talk through how colors look in Arizona light, which is brighter than most people expect.

Can you paint my kitchen cabinets?

Yes. Cabinet painting is a separate process with more prep than walls. See our cabinets page.
